They instantly saved 22% on their production costs!
HomeGrown Design is a small family run design and photography business based in Drouin, Victoria. When we started working with them 8 years ago, they were struggling with good customer service and a supply company that understood their business.
They benefited straight away from our client support and trade experience. Instantly, they were able to save 22% on their production costs, and over the past eight years we have been able to maintain that margin for them. Plus, they were able to scale up business knowing they had the ongoing support of constant consumables available for them.
Right now, we are evaluating a new printer for them to produce work faster, have less interaction with consumables and lower ink costs. With the testing we have done, we can see a speed bump of at least 14% with an ink cost saving of 25%.

After trialling a few printers with their handmade paper, we settled on the HP Designjet Z9 24″. With a thorough demonstration in our showroom we were able to demonstrate the problems they may encounter when printing onto handmade paper. Not only was this the only printer that would handle the hand-made paper without any problem, but thanks to our recommendations they actually changed a critical part of their hand-making process to enable a more consistent product.

Calibrated to perfectly reproduce their colour requirements.
LabelMakers Group is the leading supplier of custom labels & packaging solutions for a variety of market segments in Australasia. When we connected, they were struggling with producing an accurate colour representation of final product for customer approval—our Colour Management expert was able to position the printer for their colour requirements.
We’ve since been dealing with them for over 8 years and they have purchased several printers from us—including a five colour printer for positional proofs of layouts, an 11 colour printer for proofing, and a printer which uses white ink to produce foil proofs. A thriving, long-term relationship we are grateful for.

Before contacting us, they were falling behind in quoting jobs as they could not see all specifications from supplied plans when outputting at A4 & A3. They were sending pdf files via email to OfficeWorks, to be output at A1 size. This was costly and was causing a lot of time delays. They weren’t able to prepare their quotes in a timely manner and because of this delay were losing jobs.
After a consultation we decided on the Epson SCT3160 24” 4 col device running the Epson Ultrachrome XD2 pigment ink with an uncoated bond paper. This setup was simple to operate, gave them the functionality needed, and enabled them to print straight from the iPhone was also an absolute bonus for these guys!
Now they can print A1 size plans to quote from without relying on somebody else. They are confidently printing out plans at whatever time of day or night they are required, and winning a lot more jobs as they are producing quotes much faster than the competition.
